the church

If you decide to marry with a religious ceremony, you must inform the officiant, as soon as you decided the day of the wedding. This way you will have time to attend the pre-wedding course. It’s common to celebrate the wedding at the brides’ church, but you can also arrange for another location.

The officiant can give useful advices on how to handle the ceremony and the related details: how many seats the church offers (it’s useful to know the number before sending any invitation), if it’s permitted to take pictures, if the church has an organist, a choral conductor and what their rates are. Tou can ask for an advice on readings and music.

The guests will arrive before the bride and will be waiting her inside the church when she arrives.

The groom with his mother on the right side, will be amongst the first to enter che church.
The best men and maidens of honor will follow along with the mother of the bride.

The bride, escorted on the right by her father, will enter last processing up the aisle to the altar.
The bride and her family will occupy the left side of the church, while the groom and his family will stay on the right side.

At the end of the ceremony, before the newly-weds, friends and family will wait the couple outside the church to handle greetings and the traditional rice toss.

The couple will leave the church and reach the guests after attending some legal formalities (signing the registries) and taking a few pictures.
